Our Commitment

At Communiqué we understand the importance of protecting your right to privacy and have therefore prepared this policy to help you understand how we aim to do so. The Privacy Act from 21 December 2001 includes laws that regulate the way private organisations, like Communiqué, handle personal information including sensitive information such as health details.

The Act contains 10 National Privacy Principles that regulate, among other things, how organisations collect, store and protect the quality of personal information. The principles also outline how these organisations should use and share personal information with other organisations. The National Privacy Principles form part of all our procedures and policies and the way we manage our customer and employee information. Personal Information

In the course of our daily operation, Communiqué routinely collects personal information provided in person or where applicable over the telephone or through electronic media. We will only collect and use your personal information for the main purpose of conducting business with you. Methods used to collect your personal information will only be by lawful and fair means, without being unreasonably intrusive. Where reasonable and practicable, we will only collect personal information directly from you.

Access & Correction

Under the National Privacy Principles, you have a right to know what information Communiqué holds about you, and you are entitled to see this information to ensure it is correct. Communiqué aim to make sure the personal information we collect is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you believe your personal information is not accurate, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to correct it.

Security

Security of your personal information is important to us and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Communiqué regularly destroy or permanently de-identify personal information we no longer need. Specifically, personal information held for marketing and product servicing purposes is stored in a secure main frame environment, protected from unauthorised external and internal access by a series of advanced firewalls and password dependant security measures.

Cookies

When you visit our website, details may be recorded about your visit such as the time and date, our server address, pages accessed, time spent and the version of browser used. This information may be used in an anonymous form for statistical purposes and as such cannot identify you personally. We may use your cookies to identify your browser so that next time you visit our website we remember your log in details.
